Sport brings people together – even off the field!

Although our usual sports field is currently unavailable due to ongoing construction works, we are certainly not standing still. Knowing how important sports and recreational activities are for our seafarers, Kiran Joy, Head Port Chaplain of Stella Maris, took the initiative to organize a friendly basketball game on May 18th at the sports hall in Luchtbal.

And what a success it was! With great enthusiasm, team spirit, and plenty of fun, the seafarers fully embraced the game.

The afternoon was filled with energy, laughter, and new connections. The main goal — keeping our seafarers active while bringing them together — was more than achieved.

After the game, everyone enjoyed some time together over a drink, continuing the warm and friendly atmosphere off the court as well.

At IZA, we are proud to offer a wide range of activities, including music, sports, cultural events, and religious celebrations. This sports day was undoubtedly a great success and is worth repeating!
