Visit Mediport 27 April 2026

Today we visited Mediport for what turned out to be a very memorable experience. Thanks to the guided tour by Dr. T. Van Looy, we got a clear picture of how they support seafarers in the port of Antwerp day in and day out.

Mediport goes beyond medical care alone, the mental wellbeing of seafarers is equally central to their work. An approach we wholeheartedly support and one that aligns perfectly with our own mission as the International Seafarers' House. 

During the visit it became clear just how much work happens behind the scenes to welcome and assist seafarers as best as possible. From an initial medical consultation to a listening ear, Mediport offers a warm and professional environment where seafarers feel seen and supported. 

We leave this visit with new insights, valuable contacts and a strong foundation for further collaboration. Moments like these remind us why this work is so meaningful, and we very much look forward to strengthening this bond in the future.
