Welcome Sara and Marith to the International Seafarers’ House Antwerp

Welcome Sara and Marith to the International Seafarers’ House Antwerp

We are delighted to welcome Sara Abbou Aboukaid and Marith Suy as interns at the International Seafarers’ House Antwerp (IZA).

Sara is already a familiar face at our house. As a student social work at AP High School, she previously completed an internship at IZA and has therefore become well acquainted with our organisation, our colleagues and the world of seafarers. We are very pleased that Sara has chosen IZA once again for her second internship period. During the coming months, she will support our team in our daily activities while gaining further valuable experience in social work and seafarer welfare.

Marith will join IZA in mid-October 2026 for her first internship period.

During her first semester, she will get to know our organisation, our services and the diverse world of international seafarers. Marith will also become actively involved in our daily activities and will have the opportunity to further develop her knowledge and skills in an international and unique working environment.

At IZA, we strongly believe in the importance of learning, collaboration and personal growth through practical experience. Interns are an integral part of our team. They are given the opportunity to gain experience, ask questions, take responsibility and, at the same time, contribute to our mission: to offer seafarers a warm home and a listening ear, far away from home.

We are therefore very happy to welcome Sara back to IZA and look forward to welcoming Marith very soon.

A very warm welcome, Sara and Marith!

We wish you both an inspiring, rewarding and memorable internship at IZA.

We look forward to learning and growing together and to making a meaningful contribution to the wellbeing of seafarers.
